This design is a new concept. I call it wrap cake, as it is wrapped in a printed edible sheet. Naturally the image has to fit the cake, so it takes two sheets. along with plenty of measuring, cutting and joining edges. This design will only be used for the standard 3 layer, 6 inch cakes or 5 inch cakes, subject to height for the latter. Other options are fondant (I only use it for this design) and frosting as seen below.
The first cake, is a full wrap, and is inspired by my love of travel. The second cake is a more elegant, semi wrap with fondant, to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary. The third cake is a full wrap with frosting to create a marbled effect. The fourth cake is a semi wrap with frosting, once again inspired by my travels.
